We need institutions that we can trust to provide reliable information and to maintain standards of evidence. We need education that teaches people how to think critically about sources and claims. We need technological solutions like authentication systems and tamper detection. But we also need cultural and institutional practices that foster genuine commitment to truth and authenticity, that reward accuracy over engagement, that prioritize what is true over what is profitable.
